Payton Tolle & Red Sox Fight Their Way To A (6-1) Win VS Yankees
Payton Tolle Goes 7 IP & Willson Contreras Wants To Fight Everybody
Payton Tolle was on his game last night as the Red Sox won against the New York Yankees 6-1 on Friday night. Tolle went 7 innings, giving up only 1 hit in the contest.
On the offensive side, Willson Contreras added in a home run, along with wanting to fight everybody on the Yankees including Yankee starter, Will Warren. Contreras was not happy about an inside pitch thrown and let his voice be heard. Dugouts did empty, but all hugs and kisses for everybody after tempers lowered.
Connor Wong also contributed with 2 RBI’s on the night for the Red Sox.
We also saw the debut of Tsung-Che Cheng for the Red Sox who got called up for the injured Marcelo Mayer. Mayer went on the IL with a bone stress in his left forearm. His timeframe is TBA on when a return may happen. Cheng did get his first big league hit on the night too.
The Red Sox and Yankees play again on Saturday afternoon with Gerrit Cole oppsed by Jake Bennett.
